Give your skin some special treatment
Let’s talk skin treatments! I’m talking about treating yourself to a luxurious spa day, whether it be at home or an appointment with your fave medical esthetician. Every beauty lover likes to treat themselves to a beauty treat occasionally. This can range from microdermabrasion, all the way to invasive plastic surgery. For the sake of today’s article, we will be focusing on microdermabrasion, peels, and LED treatments. Peels are great for treating skin concerns, but you can damage your skin even more, if you do not know what you are doing. I highly recommend having a peel done by a professional unless you have a background in skincare. No that doesn’t include watching a gazillion YouTube videos, I mean if you have a license and or have gone to school to learn how to take care of the skin (Esthetics, Dermatology) Microdermabrasion is less harsh but can still exfoliate your skin, and it is a great way to dip your toe into the pool of beauty treatments. Unlike peels, I am okay with beauty enthusiasts using at home devices such as the (PMD) which I personally have and love. If you are unsure of how to use effectively and safely an at home microdermabrasion device though, leave it to the professionals because you could end up doing more harm than good. Lastly, the most popular treatment involves LED’s. Light therapy wands and masks are not new to professionals, but they are to many lay people. It seems like a new light therapy mask is on the market every day. They have become the most popular at home skincare device and for good reason. Unlike IPL treatments or other LED treatments you receive in a spa or doctor’s office, the strength of the LED’s used in at home devices are much weaker and can cause minimal to no damage to the skin. To target your specific skin concerns though you must know which type of light to use, and boy are there a lot to choose from.
